All in Pink

Have you seen the Glamour Girls project in the October 2008 issue of 'Craft Stamper'? It's beautiful and worth buying a copy of the magazine for. Helen has done a wonderful job and I'm delighted to say that she loved the stamps. I've been spurred on to make more from them and this is today's effort. I've called it Ooh, La La and I think that you can see why.

The image comes from the Glamour Girls sheet once again and the background has also been produced with a stamp from the same sheet. So does the cute little sentiment 'Divine' at the bottom of the card. The ribbon is a 7mm wine grosgrain that can be found on the Craft Fairy site by clicking here.

Lilac Flowers

Four flowers seems to be the thing at the moment and my hand drawn calligraphy flowers have been neglected while I've been using the stamps. neglected but not forgotten and I got them out today to make this lilac card. What I Used
1 base card in white linen 14cm x 14cm when folded.

An extra piece of white card to draw the images.

Sentiment stamp

What I did:
I cut four squares from the spare piece of white card and drew four flowers with the calligraphy pens. I did them slightly off centre. I used the green Art and Graphics to draw stems and leaves.
I used 3d foam pads to stick them to the piece of lilac card and made sure to leave a border all around the squares.
I then stuck this lilac card to the base card.
I drew around the base card with a dot and a dash line .
I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card.

I wonder what will come next. I won't commit myself as I need to see what mood I'm in.

A Medly of Calligraphy Pen Projects

Recently I managed to buy some beautiful card and heavy paper that has a pearl finished with a sheen of gold so I decided to put it together with the calligraphy pens and this is what I've come up with.

The first little card is using the blue set of pens and a small scrap of card. I did three different flowers to give the card a bit of an edge.

This second card is made with the pens again but this time I drew lots of different flowers with each of them at different heights.

Next I made a simple tag with the technique that I call 'shaky hand'. This is very quick as it is only one flower and little else.

My final piece is this gift bag which is the one that I made in my workshop.

Sunshine Flowers

When the weather is awful, it's been a perfect excuse to do some crafting. I know, I know, any excuse. This card is the result:

It's made with the Kuretake Calligraphy pens and a little bit of scrap paper that I had lying around. It makes me smile too as it's in sunny colours to counteract the rain.

Like lots of little girls my grand daughter likes handbags so this stamp is perfect for her as is the pink colour that I used to make most of the card.

To make this card you will need:
The Kids sheet of unmounted stamps from The Merry Stamper
9mm Swiss dot ribbon in hot pink
Pink blooms
TuT pens from Kuretake to colour the image
Crayon Kid Alphabet Rubber Stamps
Pink buttons
White and pink card

Most of the working for this card is fairly self evident. The printing of the word 'Julia' needs a little explanation.

Stick the letters to the mounting block, remembering to put them on in reverse order, otherwise the word will be the wrong way around when you print it. I didn't put the letters in a straight line as I believe that the harder you try to get perfection the harder it is to attain it.
Colour each letter with the TuT pens and vary the pinks to get a more interesting word. Print randomly over the base of the card as seen.

Hydrangeas

I seem to be on a roll lately and the cards are coming thick and fast. This is today's effort and I have to say that I am quite happy with it.

To make it:
1. You colour the hydrangea stamps with the Art and Graphic Pens from Kuretake and you stamped it twice, colouring up between stamping.

2. You then used the H2O water brush to move the paint a little and added some extra colour where you think that the shadows should be.
3. Cut the images out and then got on with the rest of the card.
4. Cut a base card 10.5cm x 28cm. Score this at the 14cm point to make a card 10.5cm x 14cm when folded.
5. Cut a piece of pink card and scored it and then cut it to fit over the join in the base card.
6. Stamp the message, which is from the Inspirational sayings plate, on a piece of card and cut it out to leavea a small border. Mounted this on to a piece of pink card. This is then stuck to the base card.
7. Stick the hydrangea images slightly overlapping on to the card with a mixture of adhesive and foam pade. The adhesive was for the bottom hydrangea and the foam pads for the upper image.
Decorate the lower part of the card with a broken line of green. One of the greens that was used on the stamp.

Spots it is.

When I saw this challenge on the Papertake Weekly Blog I knew that I just had to join in with it as I really do love cards with spots. I've made this card with my Dottariffic pens from Kuretake. The two colours that I've used are:

Light Pink
English Lavender

1. You will need a base card. I used an A5 card scored and folded in half.


2. A piece of thin lavender card and another thin piece of white card to layer over the lavender card.


3. Use the fat end of the Dottariffic pens to make random dots over top two thirds of the piece of white card. I made them different sizes. You can do this easily by pressing heavier of lighter with the pen.


4. I then used the thick and thin end of both colours to draw lines over the bottom third of the card as seen. I didn't use a ruler, I just drew them freehand. I think that the lines look a bit like an old fashion set of pyjamas.


5. Use a bow shaper to tie a bow in a piece of 7cm lilac grosgrain ribbon, and don't cut the bow off the ribbon. Stick it to the card to cover the join between the spots and the lines.


6. Now stemp your chosen sentiment on a piece of white card and stick it behind the white frame. I used ed foam pads from Stix2 to do this. I also coloured the edges of the frame with the lavender dottariffic.


7. Mount the decotated card onto lilac card and then trim it and stick it to the base card and you're finished.

I think that the title of this post sounds rather like a nursery rhyme and that has made me feel far more cheerful. God knows I need cheering up with this miserable weather. I'll stop going on about it and get down to crafting now, I promise. Today's entry is another of my calligraphy pen flower cards and I've also used the dottariffics to make the border at the bottom.

What I did and used.
1. First fold a sheet of A4 card in half to make an A5 size card.
2. Then put green dots where you want the flowers to be placed and load the light pink calligraphy pen with a little of the medium pink and get to work on those flowers. It really is easy. All you need to do is small fan shapes around the dot that you placed on the card. Sometimes I made them bigger, sometimes smaller. On others I held the dark tint to the outside. It's up to you. There are no hard and fast rules.
3. Now draw in the stems in and add a few buds.
4. To make the border across the bottom of the card cut a strip of pink card with a scollop scissors of a template. Cue a strip of white card slightly thinner so that when the white is placed on top of the pink, the pink can be seen.
5. Use the thick end of the Dottariffics in pale green to draw lines on the white strip.
6. Tie a knot in some pink ribbon and tape in place behind the strip of border card, Now stick the border card to the base card.
7. Stamp out a sentiment and stick it to the base card with 3d foam pads.
use 3d foam pads to add the dragonfly.
8. Draw a dotty border around the edge of the card and hey presto your card is finished.

Hearts it is

I decided to join the challenge on Cute Card Thursday, which, this week is to design a card with a heart on it somewhere. This is my attempt.

I used my fabulous stamp from the Glamour Girls sheet from Time to Stamp and paired it with the flowers that have just arrived on my doorstep throw in a bit of pink spotty ribbon and a button and here's my card. The paper is from Doodlebug Design.
